Osgoode

Osgoode is a large village within the city of Ottawa, Canada. The township along the Rideau River was established in 1798 and incorporated in 1850. It remains a largely rural area with only some 17,000 inhabitants.

It was originally part of Osgoode Township but it became part of Ottawa in 2001. Originally called Osgoode Station, its name was shortened to Osgoode in 1962.

Notable landmarks of the community include the Stuart Holmes Arena hockey, the Osgoode Community Centre and its surrounding recreation facilities, the local mall and numerous shops within the Village. The neighboring communities of Manotick, Metcalfe, Greely, Kars and North Gower also provide for excellent shopping and dining.

The Village of Osgoode has its own WEB site that provides up-dated news and information about the community. Take a few minutes and see what the Village of Osgoode has to offer. http://www.osgoodevillage.com/home/default.aspx
